Georgians know the recipe for spoiling their Moms – One teaspoon of smiles, one teaspoon of hugs, a few good measures of love, one pound dedication and an ounce of planning! This recipe proved to be fool-proof this past mothers day weekend!

On Saturday morning the ladies of George were thoroughly indulged at Die Burger and Sarie “Vrouedag” held at King George Hotel. It was a morning filled with fun and laughter, with old friends and new. The program started off with the ladies being welcomed by their hostess, the fabulous Tammy-Anne Fortuin. Following this, they were treated with lucky draws, scrumptious breakfast and wonderful gift packs. As if this wasn’t enough the organizers ensured that the ladies were properly entertained with a brilliant performance by renowned singer Sarah Theron. The finalé was a clever, witty and powerful motivational speech by the well-known, well-loved and unsurpassed Nataniel.

Joy to the world: Great entertainment
and happy kids makes for happy mothers!
Later that morning a special tribute to mothers, “Mothers of the World”, were held at the Garden Route Mall. Here, moms were treated with prize giveaways and top class entertainment by local artists Claude Pretorius, Lida de Villiers and Engela Reinstorf, accompanied by Drini Malan-Botha. This ‘festival of song, entertainment and celebration of motherhood’ certainly did well to bring joy to all of George’s moms (as well as the dads and kids!).

Georgians pulled out all the stops to give their special ladies the Royal Treatment. The whole of George sparkled from the dazzling smiles on the faces of our womenfolk. So let’s keep it up. Remember: Mom deserves to be treated like royalty every day, because she’s a Queen – the Queen of our Hearts!
